Osseo was incorporated in March 1875, by an act of the state legislature. The population of Osseo was 215 at the time. As of the last census in 2020, the population of Osseo was 2,681.

Much change has come to the city and the surrounding areas, but one thing remains the same… Osseoites are some of the happiest, most friendly, most helpful people you’ll find anywhere. Ask anyone and they’ll all tell you how much they love our small community.

Throughout 2025, we’ll be celebrating Osseo’s 150^th birthday, culminating in our biggest events during Lions Roar. Our kickoff event will be a Birthday Cake Baking Contest in January. Keep your eyes and ears open for events and opportunities to volunteer.
