The VOLUNTEERS behind the scene
Meet our team
A grass roots team of passionate, dedicated individuals, determined to create a memorable, historical experience as Osseo celebrates its 150th Birthday.

Harold Johnson
(8/1/1936 – 7/25/2023)
The guiding force behind the creation of the planning committee. Harold Johnson began discussions of the celebration back in 2021 as a city council member and laid the groundwork in 2022 for Osseo citizens and businesses to unite and plan this historical event.

Lions Roar Parade 2023
Our first participation in the Lions Roar parade was a huge success. We handed out LOTS and LOTS of candy and started to get the word out.

Lions Roar Parade 2024
Another fun parade and even more candy!

Lions Halloween Event 2024
It was perfect weather to celebrate Halloween in Osseo (before a major snow storm hit us on Halloween day).

Lions Halloween Event 2024
Michael Myers “nailed it” with his Halloween costume.

Lions Halloween Event 2024
Photo opportunities were available with the Osseo Water tower.

Small Business Saturday 2024
It was so cold, even Santa was shivering. We sold shirts and buttons for the fundraiser and also sponsored an Osseo 150th Button search contest with the help of local businesses.

Minidazzle 2024
Many thanks to our volunteers who participated in the Minidazzle Parade! We also hosted a booth in the Osseo Community Center selling T-Shirts, sweatshirts, and buttons. We were kept on our toes by Lord Vader on a Tater.

State Recognition
Carole Larson and Bill Schreiber – Committee Chair and Committee Member of the Osseo 150th Celebration Planning Committee, respectively – were recognized on the floor at the MN State Capitol on April 10th, 2025 for their ongoing work on Osseo’s 150th Celebration.
District 38A Representative Huldah Momanyi Hiltsley introduced Carole and Bill. Bill Schreiber was additionally recognized, and received a standing ovation, for his long service in the Minnesota Legislature. He served Minnesotans at the State Capitol from 1973-1976 and 1979-1992.
